It is called The Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching (CIMT) and it was established in 1986. The reason is simple – it is free, and yet it is an almost complete and comprehensive site, which allows anyone from Kindergarten to the end of High School download and use a lot of free maths text books. It is perfect for home schooling online schools. When I used this with a class of 9 – 10 year olds, at the end of the year my scores were above the UK national average for almost all the class. The material is well laid out with examples and extra work. This would be a perfect place to visit to get hold of books which explain the harder parts of maths in a simple, step – by – step manner. The second site I would also recommend looking at is the BBC Schools Site as this site happens to have all the materials a child needs to revise and practice their skills. It is well laid out and it does explain in clear, child friendly language all a student needs to know to pass. Primary Resources site is a great starting point for finding maths sheets on the web. Whenever I am in need of some worksheets to give out to my class, I always go to this site first.
