History of this Online School.
Accipio Learning was established in 2004 to provide online education to students of secondary school age throughout the U.K.
They work in partnership with local authorities and schools to help students who are out of the mainstream classroom to re-engage with learning and achieve academic success.
Does this online school offer fully accredited GCSEs or IGCSEs?
Yes - The exam results reflected their success with their students with 43% A* to C grades and a 99% pass rate in 2006-07, from over 180 students who sat exams. These results were achieved with their students studying only Foundation Tier GCSEs, where a C grade was the highest grade achievable. From September 2007, Accipio has started offering Higher Tier classes making available grades A*-B for the first time.
In their Key Stage 3 Year 9 classes, 43% achieved NC L5 and above.

Their VLE provides all Accipio’s students with access to an extensive library of Accipio’s own learning materials and a range of third-party education resources. This includes the Accipio archive, which gives students access to a pre-recorded version of every Accipio lesson.
Accipio’s online reporting system allows school or local authority staff to generate real-time reports as often as they wish. The system will generate reports including attendance and performance in each lesson, marks and statistics for returned homework and which archive lessons have been accessed.
