I decided that this site needed to research this subject - and so I decided to investigate into looking at the value of sending your child to a online elementary school. For great online elementary resources, I would recommend you check out Primary Education Oasis. to help support your child's elementary education. It has online stories and online advice on how to boost your child's ability. It is so good, I have even bookmarked it for my own class! In the UK there is only one online elementary school, Briteschool (short for British E-school.), which has 8 teachers who are linked to microphones and can chat with up to 15 children at one time, with the option of switching off noisy children from the class. It will take a child from the early stages of elementary (primary) school to children finishing their GCSEs (American equivalent is a Diploma I guess). It is to help home schoolers to gain an education. I am rather at a loss to understand this concept for parents living in the UK, as I think parents can easily teach young children - they don't need a professional based hundreds of miles away to do it - but I guess this is why I am a hands on primary school teacher. I miss my kids when they are sick - I can't imagine having the same relationship if I had to chat to them on a phone. The virtual elementary school does provide a different viewpoint on this however. Many of our pupils are home educated, and many live abroad with ex-pat parents who want them to have a British education. This would make sense, as many parents living in Bucharest, who can't afford to send their children to one of the top International Schools here - don't want their children to get lost in a class in a class where only Romanian is spoken could want to have them educated in a British virtual elementary school. I have just found another free elementary school I would like to introduce you to called Connections Academy . They will send you all the books you need, and also they provide online games. Their results and their parent satisfaction all looked impressive.
